The Impact of Scheduling Flights for the Arrival of Pilgrims on the Quality of Service and the Performance of Workers at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah
Abstract
The study aimed to identify the pattern of scheduling flights in the Hajj season, and to determine the reasons for the intensity of flights at the end of the arrival stage, and the reasons for the low benefit from exploiting the entire time period allocated for the arrival of pilgrims and to know the extent of its impact on the performance of airport workers, and in order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the method The analytical descriptive, where the study population was from the workers at King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah, and the study relied on an available sample of (200) individuals, from the employees of the agencies working at King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah. That there are many positive elements that show the reality of scheduling flights for the arrival of pilgrims and their impact on the quality of service and the performance of employees at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, as the results showed that one of the most important indicators that explain this is; That the airlines adhere to the dates of the arrival of Hajj flights according to the time slots specified for them, in addition to that the quality levels at the airport have a significant impact on the quality of service and the performance of employees at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, as all the study indicators supported this, and one of the most important influences; Increasing the waiting period for pilgrims inside the Hajj halls building during peak days. Based on the results obtained, the researcher recommended several recommendations, the most important of which are: The General Authority of Civil Aviation should set clear standards that determine the levels of service and quality at Hajj airports as a reference for measurement similar to international classifications, with the importance of finding institutions interested in standard practices that have the ability to measure and evaluate performance levels.
