The Role of Non-Governmental Organizations in Promoting the Culture of Volunteer Work in the State of Qatar
Abstract
The study seeks to explore the role of non-governmental organizations in promoting the culture of volunteer work. Specifically, the study seeks to identify the role of non-governmental social work organizations in promoting the culture of volunteer work, and to reveal the impact of the field of work of non-governmental social work organizations on their role in spreading the culture of volunteer work. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive analytical method was used, by distributing a survey to a simple random sample.
The sample included (90) board members, volunteers, and employees from non-governmental social work organizations, of whom (70) individuals responded. After analyzing the data, the results revealed a direct relationship and between the activities of non-governmental social work organizations in the areas of the family, women and children, the elderly and people with disabilities, and the culture of volunteer work. These organizations contributed to developing the culture of volunteer work and enabled society to confront problems and challenges.
Accordingly, the study recommends supporting non-governmental social work institutions financially and morally, enabling them to fulfill their mission and increase their services. The study also recommends conducting in-depth research to study the role of the activities of non-governmental social work organizations in promoting the culture of volunteer work.
