The Reality of Organisational Justice in the Public and Private Sectors in Jeddah Governorate and its Impact on Job Attitudes: A Comparative and Empirical Study
Abstract
The study aimed to identify the reality of organisational justice and job attitudes, job satisfaction and organisational commitment in particular, in the public and private sectors in Jeddah Governorate, and to measure the impact of organisational justice and its sub-dimensions on job attitudes from the perspective of employees at both sectors. To meet these aims, a descriptive, analytical, and comparative approach was used, a questionnaire was developed as a tool for collecting data, and a sample of 318 male and female employees from the two sectors mentioned participated in answering the questionnaire’s questions.
The study concluded that there were statistically significant differences in the levels of organisational organisational justice, procedural justice, informational justice, and job satisfaction in the private sector is more than the public sector. The study showed that there are positive and statistically significant relationships between organisational justice and its sub-dimensions, on the one hand, and job attitudes, on the other hand.
The study also concluded that organisational justice impacts strongly job satisfaction more than on organisational commitment. Furthermore, the study found a significant impact of distributive justice, informational justice, and procedural justice on job satisfaction, as well reached new results that were unique from previous studies, namely that informational justice, distributive justice, and interpersonal justice, respectively according to strength level of influence, have a significant impact on organisational commitment. Finally, the study concluded with a number of theoretical implications and practical recommendations.
