Abstract

The study aimed to study the impact of humanitarian and relief works provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on its ranking in the soft power index, through the use of qualitative analysis and statistical analysis based on secondary data available on the United Nations Financial Tracking System website for all the financial support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in The relief and humanitarian aspects for the period between 2011 and 2020, The researcher also used the statistical multiple regression method to study the relationship between the number of 14 variables representing different aspects and sectors of relief support according to the classification of the United Nations on the one hand, and the soft power index for the year 2021 in 22 different countries on the other hand. Humanitarian and relief support over a decade, which earned it a permanent position in the ranking of the top ten countries in terms of providing humanitarian and relief support, the study also clearly analyzed the strategy followed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in distributing these humanitarian and relief works by countries, which was clearly concentrated in the Arab and Islamic countries only. The study also presented a linear model for the relationship between the soft power index and the volume of humanitarian work in 14 different sectors From the relief support sectors, while it reached to identify the most prominent sectors that have a strong relationship with the soft power index, such as the sectors of agriculture, education, food security, nutrition, water and sanitation, where the study emphasized the need for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to adopt clear strategies to direct this large volume. of humanitarian and relief works by creating a balance in the process of distributing these aids among the beneficiary countries, as well as according to the targeted relief sectors, in order to raise its position and rank within the soft power index.
