Abstract

Through critical analytical perspective to management thought, this research concluded that there is a divergence between this thought and the social and human sciences. As such, the benefit of this thought from these sciences is slowly becoming atrophied, as if management thought is eating itself and its own concepts, which leads to have a conceptual, theoretical and practical atrophy. So that, it’s necessity to relink strongly to the social and human fields again, searching for new notions and concepts that would help illuminate some dark corners, as the research assumes that is a good contribution in a renewal of conceptual and theoretical vitality in management thought, leading to the crystallization of new managerial concepts, and theories/models.

Accordingly, the research problem is based on the main question: How can sociocultural concepts contribute to development the Arab management thought, conceptually and practically? and was divided into three sub-questions:

(1) why is management thought unable to innovate new concepts?

(2) what is the importance of the sociocultural conceptual framework for developing and renewing this thought?

(3) what are sociocultural concepts that can achieve this? The research dealt with many sociocultural such as: the collective mind, myths, habitus, system, social genetics, and semiology.
