Abstract

The present research focuses on describing the practices of Green Human Resources Management (GHRM) in Green Stars Hotels in Egypt, as well as, to explore the relationship between (GHRM) practices and Green Creativity (GC) among employees in these hotels, and also the research aims to verify if there are significant differences among employees towards applying GHRM practices according to their demographic characteristics.


To achieve these objectives, data were gathered via a distributed survey to a stratified random sample of 334 employees in green stars hotels in the cities of EL Gouna and Sharm ElShekh, the selected hotels represent 30 out of 80 hotels are holding the Green Star Certificate in Egypt (37.5%).


Findings of the research indicate that the selected green star hotels are highly applying the green practices of HRM. Also, the findings reveal there are no significant differences among employees towards applying GHRM practices according to the gender and age. While there are significant differences among employees towards the practices of green recruiting & selection, green performance management and green pay and rewards according to the level of education. Finally, the findings reveal that the is a significant relationship between GHRM practices and green creativity in green star hotel employees, which confirm that it is essential for hotels to implement the practices of green human resource management in order to enhance the employee green creativity.
