Management by Walking around and its Role in Enhancing The Behavior of Organizational Citizenship Among the Staff of Al Quds Open University
Abstract
The aim of this study was to find out the role of Management by walking around (MBWA) in enhancing the organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) of the employees of Al Quds Open University. The researcher used the descriptive approach. The study population consisted of 250 employees while the sample was 119 employees at Al-Quds Open University in the branches of Qalqiliya, Tulkarem, Nablus Governorate in the academic year 2018/2017.
The most important results were: the university administration of Al-Quds Open University highly practiced Management by walking around(MBWA), and the level of organizational citizenship behavior(OCB) among employees was very high, and found a correlation between the Management by walking around and the level of organizational citizenship behavior(OCB), finally there was an impact of the practice of management by roaming in enhancing the organizational citizenship behavior(OCB) of the staff of Al Quds Open University.
The most important recommendations were: Raising awareness about the importance of Management by walking around (MBWA) by giving training courses to managers at Al-Quds Open University, and the need to break down barriers between employees and management during practicing Management by walking around (MBWA). This will positively affect the morale of employees and enhance their performance positively.
