The Impact of Emotional Intelligence on the Workforce Agility (WFI): Applied to the Employees in the Information Systems and Technology Sectors in Telecom Egypt
Abstract
The current research examines impact of emotional intelligence dimensions on the dimensions of workforce agility (WFI) applied on the employees in information systems and technology sectors in Telecom Egypt. Data was collected through a survey of (291) of employees with a response rate of (78.4%). To test the research hypotheses Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis was used.
Results indicate that a significant correlation between emotional intelligence dimensions and the dimensions of workforce agility. The results of the statistical analysis showed a significant positive correlation between the dimensions of emotional intelligence and each of the dimensions of workforce agility and it was found that the highest value of the correlation coefficient (0.446) was between the proactivity and the dimension of self-awareness, while the lowest value of the correlation coefficient was (0.298), and it was between the proactivity and the relationship management dimension at a level of significance of 0.01.
The results also revealed a significant positive impact of emotional intelligence dimensions on the dimensions of workforce agility. Where the emotional intelligence dimensions explain (33.7%) of the variance in the dimension of proactivity, (21.2%) of the variance in the dimension of adaptability, (14.2%) of the variance in the dimension of Resiliency.
