Abstract

Given the increasing role played by strategic think tanks, and considering the increasing challenges facing decision-makers, this study was prepared with the aim of identifying the role of strategic think tanks in supporting decision-making among senior leaders. The descriptive analytical approach was used by reviewing and referring literature on the subject, and therefore the study relied on secondary sources of books, studies, and reports.
The results of the study revealed that strategic think tanks help raise and improve performance in decision-making and the ability to deal with risk management and project management and enhance skills to achieve strategic goals. They also contribute to increasing the ability to innovate and continuously improve and improve the quality of output and the ability to face various challenges. Strategic think tanks work to increase the ability to plan strategically and develop businesses through in-depth study of the environment and the ability to predict the future.
Therefore, the study recommends the establishment of national strategic think tanks specialized in all areas of interest to the state. It also recommends increasing support and funding for these centers and providing material, human and other capabilities to push these centers to increase their research output. The study also recommends linking these centers to universities to benefit from the theories presented by universities and for groups to benefit from the applied cases and studies conducted by universities.
