Information Technology Governance and its Role in Developing Performance in the Health Sector: An Applied Study on the Branch of the Ministry of Health in Jeddah

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the reality of the application of information technology governance in the branch of the ministry of health in Jeddah and to know its impact and role in improving health performance, the study used the descriptive analytical approach, and used the questionnaire as a tool, the study used the simple random sampling method. a simple random sample was selected, which includes administrative and technical staff working, was selected from a simple random sample of the study population, which numbered (168) administrative and technical employees, including (140) males, (28) females, and among the most prominent findings it reached the study.
The results revealed that there is a large application of IT governance in the Jeddah branch of the ministry of health, and there are many indicators that support the application of techno governance Information technology in the Jeddah branch of the ministry of health, and the transparency axis is one of the most important dimensions that explain the reality of information technology governance in the branch of the ministry of health in Jeddah between the dimensions of information governance, the study recommended the need to provide human support from the expertise and competencies necessary for the department of Information technology governance policies and procedures for its great role in improving the performance of employees, and to pay attention to training courses on the information technology governance program, specialized workshops and an increase in the doses of external and internal training courses in information technology governance, and the need for a clear model for information technology governance and its implementation in the ministry and all its branches in the kingdom to achieve the kingdom’s vision (2030).
