Government Efforts to Develop Emergency Medical Services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Abstract
The study aimed to identify the governmental efforts to develop emergency medical services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the researcher adopted the inductive approach as the study method.
The researchers reached many results including that the most prominent government efforts to develop emergency medical services are the formation of work teams by the directors of branches and emergency affairs, directors of operations, and field leaders to follow up the work around the clock; the existence in the operations room and sites when the area is exposed to projectiles, whether in military or civilian areas, and directly at the sites; the direct follow-up and guidance via wireless devices; submitting immediate reports and urgent needs to cover daily emergency tasks; and launching the ambulance response initiative to emergency calls.
The study reached several recommendation including the coordination between government and private agencies to develop emergency medical services and providing training courses for emergency medical services personnel to improve performance.
