The Role of the National School of Administration in Preparing and Developing Future Leaders in Palestinian Governmental Organizations

Abstract

This study aims to identify the effectiveness and adequacy of the role of the National School of Administration in preparing and developing future leaders in Palestinian governmental organizations, Clarify the level of coordination carried out by the National School with the competent authorities for leadership development. In addition to identifying the extent to which future leaders are satisfied with the role of the National School. To achieve the purpose of the study, the study relied on the descriptive analytical approach by conducting (10) interviews with each of the trainers, trainees, and the director of the National School of Administration. And distribution of (70) forms to the trainees and the General Personnel Office. In the end, the study concluded that the National School of Administration played an effective role in refining the skills of the trainees, and it brought about a qualitative leap in the job reality, so it established and built leaders capable of keeping pace with the renewed job reality in the Palestinian environment, and in the public sector. This is clearly demonstrated by the results that show that the effectiveness and adequacy of the role of the National School is high, the level of coordination of the National School with the competent authorities is also high, as is the case with high satisfaction from the leaders about the role of the National School of Administration. Based on this, the most prominent recommendations were the need to work on following up the trainees in coordination with their superiors at work, and to provide them with suggestions on the trainees’ abilities to be invested, strengthened, and refined in the work environment.
