Employees’ Perception of the Ethical Climate and its Relationship to Some Demographic and Organizational Factors: A Field Study on a Random Sample of Private Sector Employees in the City of Riyadh

Abstract

The present study aimed to explore the nature of the ethical climate in the Saudi private sector and identify the statistically significant differences based on variables such as job title, type of qualification, age, and years of experiences. The study adopted a descriptive research methodology, utilizing a descriptive survey approach. The sample consisted of (273) employees.
A tool developed by (Lu & Lin, 2014) was used to measure the study’s variable. The study found that employees generally agreed on the level of awareness of the ethical climate. Statistically significant differences were found due to some demographic variables, in comparison, there were no differences were observed for other demographic variables. Lastly, the study provided several recommendations aimed at strengthening the ethical climate.
